Abstracta® System was designed by Poul Cadovius in 1962.  The thinking behind his unique, and award-winning Abstracta® System, was that modern people need modern furniture to accommodate modern requirements in modern homes. 

The shelving system consists of 13 mm powder-coated round steel tubes in various colours and lengths; and the patented connectors which are so strong and stable no welds or screws are required to hold the structure together.

Over the years, the Abstracta® System has won countless design awards both in Denmark and abroad, including the 1992 ID Award in Denmark. It has also featured in the permanent collection of New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) since 1967.

Due to its versatility, and Abstracta’s bespoke European manufacturing virtually any system can be created.  This means it is suitable for design lovers at home or within a commercial environment such as hotels, bars or for shop fits.
